Alan Walker x David Whistle - Routine
Adam Walker’s morning routine
This content has been created in collaboration with Clarins
Adam Walker packs more into a Monday before 9am than many of us fit into an entire weekend. We talked to the 36-year-old about his morning regime
6amI’m up early. I moisturise my face with before heading to the pool for a training session. The moisturiser helps protect my skin against the chlorine, and stops it drying out.
I grab a bite to eat before I leave the house – usually porridge, or it could be granola with a fruit bowl. What I drink varies, but I try to not have too much juice, so just a small glass and then water.
7amI hit the pool and usually train for a couple of hours. I’ll either be doing sprint sessions or threshold training. I’ll cover between 8 and 9km. When you do threshold training you fall into a slower pace, but that’s how you get fitter: it improves muscular endurance. I don’t rest for any longer than 10secs in any set that I do, so if I do 100s, 200s I rest for about 5secs and then push again.
After training I jump in the shower. I have really sensitive skin that can be prone to eczema patches, so it’s important I clean the chlorine off thoroughly. I use to clean my face, and then I re-apply the moisturiser after. It’s amazing how much being in water can dry your skin out! But since using ClarinsMen products I’ve really noticed a difference.
9amAfter morning training, it’s off to work before my second training session in the evening.
