Homemade pita cakes
Homemade Pit Cakesis a recipe.
- flour 3 glasses;
- olive oil (optional) 2 tsp
- salt 2 tsp.;
- dry yeast 2 tsp.;
- warm water 1 cup.
Dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it brew for 5 minutes. Then add flour, salt and olive oil. Stir to make a crumbly dough.
Flour the work surface and knead the dough. Knead for 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth, solid and elastic. Then put it in a greased bowl or pan, cover with cling film and set in a warm place.
When the dough rises twice from its volume, divide it into 8 equal parts and roll them into flat cakes of average thickness, about 5-7 mm.
The first option in the oven.
Preheat oven to 2200C, spread the cakes on a baking sheet and bake for 3 minutes.Flapjacks in the oven will begin to swell rapidly. When the pit has a nearly spherical shape, it is ready, you can take it out of the oven. Finished tortillas cover with a clean towel.
The second option in the pan, better cast iron.
Heat the pan, pour a couple of drops of butter and put a cake in the pan. Within seconds 30 bubbles will start to appear on it. We turn the pita to the other side. Cook 1-2 minutes, then turn over and cook another 1-2 minutes.
