Instruction
If the surface in need of painting already has a paint coating, make sure that it does not crack, and the new layer of paint does not dissolve the existing one and will not begin to crumble. To do this, apply a small amount of new paint on the old. If within 30-40 minutes nothing changes, you can start painting. Otherwise, the old coating will need to be completely removed.
New or cleaned base, check for readiness for painting by running a wooden block on it. The surface is ready if there are traces of wood chips on it. Block the cracks, chips and holes in the plaster. After the solution has dried, clean the surface with a brush.
Test the base on absorbency. To do this, swipe it with a wet sponge. If water is absorbed by the wall actively, prime the surface. For a highly porous and fragile façade surface, use a deep penetration primer. For a surface with small irregularities and minor defects, choose filled primers that fill and stabilize the surface layer.
Those areas of the facade that do not need painting, for example, lined with tiles, cover the chalk talker. This will facilitate the removal of random paint splashes.
Divide the facade into equal areas of labor. Their boundaries are most often determined by the lines of projections and pilasters, and on smooth facades, by the lines of fastening of drainpipes. When painting, move the roller on flat surfaces up and down or back and forth. Strips of paint should be applied one on another at 4-5 mm. Use a brush to paint the inside corners.
When painting walls in one layer, first apply the paint horizontally. Thus covering the first selected area entirely, blend the paint vertically. Painting the facade in two layers, apply the first layer horizontally, the second - vertically. When painting in three layers, apply the first and third vertically, and the second layer horizontally.
After painting the first section, do not wait for the edges to dry, and immediately start painting the next one. This will increase the hiding power of the material and avoid the appearance of seams.
