Nikita Mikhalkov on the Yeltsin Center: “For the memory of the president, this is disastrous”
Back in March of this year in the author's program of Nikita Mikhalkov "Besogon TV" on the channel "Russia 24" came out a critical release on the new symbol of Yekaterinburg - "Yeltsin Center." But now the whole city has been discussing the fresh scandalous statements of the famous director. Nikita Sergeevich said that “the building bears the wrong values and distorts the course of events, and visitors receive only an injection of poison into the mind”.The widow of Boris Yeltsin, Nain, and associates of the first president kept saying: Nikita Mikhalkov supported the first president of the country, wrote letters to him ... And what now? The opponents of Mikhalkov are outraged by the fact that he criticizes the museum without a word, never having been there.
On December 17, Nikita Sergeevich flew to Yekaterinburg for the match between Povetkin and Stivern. And finally, he decided to make sure that he was right. The guide for the director was the director of the archive Dmitry Pyshnin. The guest did not look at all eight halls, only two - dedicated to the 90th years of the twentieth century. Spent no more than an hour in the museum, was skeptical and summed up immediately:
- Yes, impressive. But I have not changed my opinion: out of respect for Yeltsin, you need to show only the best of the worst that happened at that time. And do not cram into my head that "only this, and no alternative."
Most of all, the filmmaker was outraged by the 8-minute cartoon about the history of Russia, which is played at the entrance to the Yeltsin Center:
- We are a centuries-old Russia. And in this cartoon there is not even Alexander II the Liberator, which for me becomes a very frightening phenomenon. I say this completely sincerely and not for the eyes.Because here come young people who draw historical information from Wikipedia. They come to a powerful center, which was spent a lot of money, and the first thing they see is this cartoon. This is the beginning of a story about the country in which they live. And neither respect nor love for his past, his ancestors, he does not give birth. We are obliged, this thin exclamation of this cartoon is to love only the one who gave freedom, Boris Nikolayevich Yeltsin. For Yeltsin's memory, this is catastrophic.
The workers of the Yeltsin Center declare that Nikita came to them with cameras and microphones, which means that, most likely, a new report about the museum will be released on Besogon TV soon.
