These Are the Most Popular Baby Names of 2019—So Far
Now that we're half way through 2019, Nameberry has identified the current baby name trends with a list of the most popular so far this year.
The baby naming brand puts the half-year list together by determining which name pages on its website have received the most views. And the boys' list has seen a few changes.
The big news is that Asher has overtaken Ezra in the number one spot on the top 100 names, but that's not all as a fifth of all boys' names in this list are new. This means Theodore, Jasper, Kane, Magnus, Arlo, and Cassius now feature in the popularity chart.
When it comes to the girls, traditional names are still prominent. Olivia is holding on in the number one spot, followed by Amelia and Charlotte in second and third place. Evelyn and Penelope are the two new names in the top 10, while Celeste, Ines, Fiona, Saskia and Alexandra are all new additions to the top 100.
As for the names that rose the most from last year's top 100 list? These are Kai (+57), Cassius (+33), George (+33) in the boys category and Evelyn (+60), Amara (+42) and Ada (+27) in the girls.
